The GT2 Class staged a masterclass in overtaking at the Hungaroring on Thursday, where Fernando Horta (#63 Corvette Racing Chevrolet Corvette C6-R GT2) mounted a relentless surge from 22nd on the grid to secure a commanding victory in the 15-lap event. Finishing with a total time of 27:21.610, Horta crossed the line 18.7 seconds clear of pole-sitter Chris Moses (#52 BMW Motorsport E46 M3 GTR).

Moses had controlled the early proceedings from pole position alongside Björn Hehmann (#64 Gravity Racing Mosler MT900R), but could do little to stem the progress of the yellow Corvette as Horta sliced through traffic. By lap nine, Horta took the lead and proceeded to unleash a blistering fastest lap of 1:45.075—over a full second quicker than any rival on the circuit. Reflecting post-race on his dominant stint, Horta noted: "I was really inspired on the lap I set the fastest lap of the race."

Hehmann completed the podium in third place (+21.562s off the leader), fending off a late charge from Sol Leung (#71 Reiter Engineering Lamborghini Gallardo) in fourth. FormulaDuude Executive Director Eurico Maluf monitored the session from the pit wall and confirmed the classification. "The efficiency of our GT2 grid moving through Hungarian dust was strictly monitored, and while Mr. Horta's lap time appears supernatural, the telemetry is entirely valid," stated Maluf.

Post-Race Press Gaggle

Gábor Gasped (Budapest Bulletin): "Fernando, you started 22nd on a track notoriously difficult for passing and won by nearly nineteen seconds. Did you discover a secret layout behind Turn 4?"

Fernando Horta: "No secret layouts, Gábor. Just clear air, late braking, and very good momentum out of the final corner."

Sándor Spinout (Puszta Racing News): "Director Maluf, were any official protests lodged regarding the Corvette's sudden disappearance into the horizon after lap eight?"

Eurico Maluf (FormulaDuude Organization): "Three teams asked us to check his restrictor plates, but our technical delegates found nothing illegal—only an uncomfortable volume of American V8 noise."
